We’re proposing a new “Day”. You know, a day like Earth Day, Flag Day and Arbor Day. One of those special days when we show our love and appreciation for a cause that is near and dear to all our hearts. On a “Day” like this, we normally devote our attention to connecting with our cause and spreading the word to others, in the hope that we can attract even more people to our cause.
What is our common cause? Promoting and protecting our industry! Nothing esoteric here; just a plain old pragmatic “do what you have to do” approach to protecting the way we all earn our living.
When the media hoopla hit the fan after auto executives used their corporate aircraft to fly to DC for a handout, all of us came away smelling worse. Was it a foolish move bordering on arrogance? Perhaps, but nobody immediately stepped up to explain the reasonable and plausible reasons for them to use their own aircraft. So the media won that round with a righteously indignant, “How could they?”





Inventories of used turbine helicopters have been building since the middle of last year “but now appear to be stabilizing, albeit at record-high levels,” UBS Investment Research noted in its first turbine helicopter inventory report. According to UBS aerospace/aviation analyst David Strauss, about 1,010 helicopters were on the market at the end of June, including 974 used models and 36 new delivery positions.
